CrazyWenky's Dark Elves Armyproject DAY 3

Today there are not many big news. I started to build the Cauldron of blood. In many sneak pictures and in the White Dwarf you could see the medusa have a little displaced breast, but its a bad angle of view in my opinion because my medusa doesn't have a displaced breast :) WUUUHUU so --> nice modell.

For the next weekend (Scale Modell Challenge) i have to finish this miniature. The Gunnery Sergeant Harker from Games Workshop. Philip from Massive Voodoo and i planed to paint a miniature for each others display cabinet. Both miniatures we started at my "Malkränzchen Deluxe" but we didn't finish it so we decided to finish the paintjob for the SMC. I'm very excited about and looking forward to hold Philips miniature in my hands :D

Harker is still WIP :D

I know a few hours to late for the second day post  ;) but here are the results from today.

Today I worked only around 4 hours and could deburr and glue only this additional models.

1 Kharibdyss
5 additional Witches (10 left)
10 Crossbower (30 warriors left wuuuääähhh)
1 Assasine

Tomorrow or better today in the afternoon I'll show you some pictures of the sprues too.


Oookay what's my result or opinion about the new dark elves plastic sprues at the moment?

- The design is really cool. The witches are great, the Kharibdyss is a great monster too.

- The fitting of each parts are really great. No big wholes or cracks *thumbs up*

- but so good the fitting so bad the burrs, daaaaamn what a deburr work *THUMBS DOWN*!

But the most annoying thing is the totally constrained poses from ALL Modells.

-The poses of the warrior are all the same :( that's such a pity... you have ONE PART with the WHOLE BODY except the arms so you can't create some other poses.

-The same at the witches. OK they look great but you can't build them differently. All arms and weapons have their place and you can't turn an arm in another angle or turn the head. All single parts have fixed positions. So customized models take a lot of work and a lot of sculpting skills.

But I love the dark elves and nevertheless I'm happy to paint them soon :D

Today at 10:00 AM I visit Vlado for a little talk and drink some coffee and to get my new Scale75 Colorsets you can order from his Shop BigPandaV and bring some warriors for him to deburr :D

CrazyWenky's Dark Elves Armyproject DAY 1

Hey Guys,

since years i have planed to restart my old Dark Elves Army when the new rulebook release is coming out.
NOW is the time :D. Today i received the first part of my Dark Elve Army. Much more will come when the second wave is available (Jesus! Sorry moneypocket! :-) )

Today i have started to build something. But the new sprues have a lot of burrs :( so it takes a lot of time to build up the small troops as you can see below.
Tomorrow and the whole remaining week i will build up the modells (i try it ^^) I'm still consider about the bases. I think i will choose a variante of an Army who stay in HIS Castle so i choose dark marble plates maybe with a little bit of earth and a few skulls. I don't know maybe i will get a great idea in the next days. This are the reason why i build up all first and then start to paint.

This is the first order

40 Warriors ( i will build 20 warriors and 20 crossbower)
10 Knights
20 Witches (yeeeeah i looove the models)
1 Chaudron (for the witches)
1 Hydra (i build the Karyndriss because it looks much better ^^)
1 Sorceress
1 Assasine
1 Dreadlord on Dragon
1 Rulebook

This are the first 6 Modells of the first day. I think tomorrow all 20 witches and the hydra is ready too. I'm scared to deburr the 40 warriors ^^

The only thing i hate at the witches, are the non flexibility of the arms and heads. You HAVE to build it like the construction plan or it doesnt work without a lot of resculpting time. And this time i don't have because its only a Army to play and i want to finish it!

Tuskar's Werkbank - der Signalturm für WARMACHINE

Hallo Freunde des Malens und Bastelns,

ich bin ja nun schon länger - wie bei so einigen meiner Projekte, das gebe ich zu - mit dem Signal- oder besser gesagt Leuchtturm für meinen Warmachine Spieltisch beschäftigt. Derzeit bekommt dieser wieder meine volle Aufmerksamkeit und darum gibt es auch heute viele Bilder vom Baufortschritt zu sehen.

Da ich ja vor habe ihn als Diorama mit auf die SMC zu nehmen brauche ich natürlich auch eine schicke Base. Dank Vlado's Sockelsortiment war da genau die passende Größe schnell gefunden.

Den Fundamentsockel bildet ein schräg abgeschnittener Dämmplattenblock den ich mit Sellitron verkleidet habe, weil sich da die Ziegel und Kopfstein Pflaster Struktur ganz einfach mit einem weichen Bleistift rein prägen lässt.

Nach ein  paar Überlegungen habe ich für das Kopfsteinpflaster dieses Viertelkreis Muster gewählt. Bis zur Internetrecherche zu diesem Thema wusste ich gar nicht wie viele verschiedne Arten des Pflasterlegens es gibt. Ist schon spannend was man neben unseren rein Hobby bezogenen Dingen so alles auch noch lernt ;)

Um dem Kanal an dem der Turm steht noch mehr Charakter zu verleihen, hatte ich schon längst beschlossen das da ein Lastkahn dazu gehört. Ihr werdet dann auch in meinem nächsten Bericht verstehen das es noch einen zusätzlichen Grund gibt warum der Sinn macht. Die Holzarbeiten haben sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Die Planken sind alle aus Balsaholz, für den Kahn musste ich sie in heissem Wasser einweichen, um sie besser zurecht biegen zu können.

So allmählich gewinnt die Szene immer mehr an Details und ich sehe inzwischen auch, das mein Zeitplan wohl aufgehen wird. Wie das nunmal leider so ist, hänge ich mit dem Bericht und den Bildern auch wieder ein paar Schritte hinter dem aktuellen Stand der Dinge hinterher. D.h. aber auch, das ihr recht bald noch viel mehr zu sehen bekommen werdet.

Malkränzchen Deluxe

Vor einiger Zeit hat Manuel zum Malkränzchen Deluxe eingeladen, Deluxe bedeutet mehrere Tage malen mit Übernachten und leckerem Essen *g*

Diesem Ruf sind Philip, Peter und meine Wenigkeit gefolgt.

Eigtl. gibt es nicht viel zu erzählen, wir haben gebastelt, gemalt, gefachsimpelt und gegessen.....gegessen....und....gegessen *g*

Hier ein paar lose Impressionen des Wochenendes.

Danke Manu für die Einladung sowie die exzellente Verköstigung, du warst ein wahrlich toller Gastgeber, ich hoffe dem Kätzchen gehts inzwischen wieder besser als am Wochenende.
