Sculpting time =) SciFi Ork bust

Hey Guys,

a few weeks ago I had a big motivation to paint an Orc model. I always saw cool painted Orc models from my Vinci Buddy Thomas 1, 2, 3 and want to paint my own version.
My wish was a bust. But not a fantasy bust like the all known pirate orc or something else. It should be a SciFi Orc bust with big muscles, a lot of gear and bionics AND a cigarette really important for a orc in my opinion :)… puuuh after a long search in the world wide web I gave up. Nothing for me I wanted to paint. So the only way for me to paint a model like this, is to sculpt my own version :D

Sadly I forgot to take pictures from the first steps but I will show more detailed pictures in the next project.

The first bust I have sculpted is my No’yok an Oceanwarrior bust. It was a really simple work without many details or without much character. My new bust should have much more character and a lot of details. I want that the painter has a lot of fun during the painting so It should have enough but not too much details.

Ok I started with the bust with a roughly structure out of Super Sculpey. I baked this one because I need a solid basement for my final putty. For sculpting I use BeesPutty Plastic Firm. I reeeeally like this stuff and it’s absolutely awesome to work with! Check out BeesPutty here or the Facebookpage.

After around 4 hours of work roughly sketched :) ...

I asked my Vinci Bro’s about their opinion and change some small parts, thanks Bro's ;)! After around three additional hours I got this one.

Sadly I have no sculpt God next to me who can help me with the anatomy and give me feedback on the main important things, so I was glad when I remembered that Raffa from MassiveVoodoo came for a Beginners Class Workshop to Blumberg Achdorf. Raffa checked the sculpt and gave me some tips about a few anatomic problems. Small things to change but a huge effect! Thanks Raffa for the help :D!!! So I remove and correct some areas and added a few more details.

This is now the current state of the bust. I want to finish the “naked” version first. Then I will bake it and add the gear armory and other stuff.

I hope you like it :) more pictures soon!

Blood Angels Commission "Corbulo" and "Sanguinius Priest"

Hey Guys,

a few days ago I've showed you a picture of two Blood Angel Marines. This was a small commission for a Tabletop gaming army I've painted. I planed about 2 hours of work for each marine at the end the whole paintjob for both marines took me about 5 hours.

The next commission I got is a special sculpted 18cm tall miniature. And this time finialy a commission with nearly no time limit "thank you god!" :). At the end it should be a cabinet modell for a collector. And I'm very honoured that I'm allowed to paint this model! Stay tuned! I will show you a few pictures of the project in the next days.

Wooorkbench Lifesign from CrazyWenky

Hey Guys,

maybe you remember me, it’s me CrazyWenky I’m one of dieVincis :D!

Yes a long time has passed since my last post. A reeeally long time. There are a lot of things I had and still have to do outside the hobby and if I have some time for painting or sculpting whatever the motivation for a blog post didn’t exist. Fortunately my new hobby room is finished and now I have no more an excuse for a missing work place!

Anyway :) I don’t wanna talk too much about less motivation, or find some reason why I’m so long away from the blog. Let’s celebrate my first NEW Blogpost after some Months!

In November Phil, Vlado and I decided to try a little motivation push. We called it One month one project (and a post of this project on the blog). If anyone don’t complete this monthly challenge have to pay 5€ in our summer Barbecue Piggy Bank :D. Ok at the moment Vlado and I (especially me) were the power supporter for this event :) Phil did nearly all of his projects (damned you and your motivation :D). Be sure you will see the pictures of our EpicVinciMealtime :D because you know, dieVincis contains all the things for real men... miniatures and good food :D

Ok back to the challenge I painted every month a project up to 90% ready and started a new one in the followed months. Bad mistake I should always finish the one piece and show it on the followed month :). Ok this is now past. Today you see a few of my WIP pictures of the last OMOP’s (my new word for “One month one project“ OMOP). I hope you like it. All projects still WIP ;) I hope to finish this pieces soon! The bust and the Goblin will get a little unpacked in the next days :) Stay tuned:)

And do not forget :) only few weeks left for the GoldenVinci 2015 competition! Hurry up a lot of beautiful entries ar in yet.

The Hunter and his pet

Wuuuh my third post this Year :D

A few weeks ago, I visited Vlado at home and we had a little paintingtime together. I decide to paint a ONE DAY miniature instead of a existing WIP miniature. A long time ago I said to myself I should paint more quick paintjobs. No Showcase but a quick good paintjob. Only for playing with colors and basing nothing more. So I search in my big miniature box with all the *woooohooo i must have this figure because I can't life without it* and took this one from Tales of War. I prepared the base one day before so I can use the painting day only for PAINTING (the water isn't good but no matter is a one day mini :D)

Here is the finished miniature (ok I spent 4 additional hours at the next day on it :))

What a AWESOME Nerd Weekend!!!

Woooow what a great weekend i had!

Thanks a lot to Peter Toth from Massive Voodoo for being our super host of a really great painting weekend. Raffa, Bene and Phil from Massive Voodoo and Markus Thomas and Luke also took part. Eight crazy painting Nerds in a small flat a whole weekend :D YEAH!

Friday we arrived Peter at around 18:00 o’clock. After a big pizza order and some nice talks we start to prepare our workplaces. Than the first evening ends at 5:30 of the next morning :D

A few guys was sculpting the whole time on some awesome sculpts and the others paint on their miniatures. The air was full of art and creativity and a little bit of body odour :D or was it more body odour? I can't remember :) but it was great!

I worked on my Teutonic knight and finished the inner parts except the white coat. Man what a heavy big tin monster! My hands hurts after painting and my muscles feels like Homer Simpson :D

But here is the current WIP status of the knight. I hope you like it

All in all a really nice weekend, nice people, good food and a lot of inspiration and big motivation kick for the next time.

I hope i see you guys soon again!!!

Lifesign from CrazyWenky

Hey ho,

Loooong time ago since my last post and I can't explain what’s going on with my motivation. The most time I made excuses to myself or to friends like "I have no time", "I'm to busy", "to much work" what ever. But when I really think about my "busy life" then I realize that I have enough time for all the things I want to do. What keeps me away? Social Networks visiting all kind of forums and blogs E-Mails and much more. There is always the feeling need to know all about everyone and everything. Frustrating because when I have finish my exploration of the big world wide web I restart it because the hundreds of new mails from the last 30 minutes. It's a vicious circle :(.
(Oook it's not only the world wide web, at the moment I'm really busy because I’m planning to buy a house for me and my girlfriend and now we are just before to close the deal.)
So I will try the same as I tried a hundreds of times. Reduce the internet time to a minimum and spend more time for the family and the hobby! Maybe it works from now on -.-

But it's overall too quiet in our Vinci Nerdoramas at the moment. We all have a lot of things that keeps us away from the hobby. I hope we can manage this in the next weeks.

And don't forget the Golden Vinci 2014 :D until now a lot of beautiful Minis arrived us and we hope many more will come.

Here are some of my current WIP's I'm working on.
The first is a Teutonic Knight from Pegaso Models. It is my first 75mm miniature I have ever painted and I think it's the last one ^^. Goood damned the motivation on this guy at the moment is lower than at all other miniatures I have ever painted. But one of my New Year’s resolution was to finish old miniatures i started in the last years but I've never finished. And this is a lot of stuff :D. My Vinci brothers told me a lot that I should finish my old works before I start a new project again and again and again, but what did the CrazyWenky HE START A NEW PROJECT... But no more words ^^...

I hope you will see the final pictures of this model soon.

(Ohhh man I prepared this post a month ago and first now it's Online! Shame on me!)

CrazyWenky's Dark Elves Armyproject DAY 4-10

Wooohooo so much time has passed since the last post. But I wasn't inactive :) I still worked on my Dark Elves Army and it gets bigger and bigger.

Tomorrow the new Dark Elves Modells will be released. I got my models on tuesday and since then I always removed moldlines and glued something :). Now I'm fed up with gluing and really want to paint something!

What the new models in my Army since the last post?

10 additional Crossbowers
10 additional Witches
5 Dark Riders
10 Cold One Knights
20 Executioners
2 Reaper Bolt Thrower
1 Cold One Carriot
1 Dreadlord

This is the current Army

Which models will come the next weeks? I still have 3 more packs of Dark Riders and I will build 5 additional Dark Rider and 10 Doomfire Warlocks out of it. Then a second Cold One Carriot. Maybe the version with the Bold Thrower I don't know we will see. And at last 30 Black Guards. I think my Army is finished by then.

The most problems with units I had was the Cold One Knights. I still build up a few of them in the past but I never had such problems as with the new boxes. I think the molds are too old so you have a really bad fitting of the single parts and a lot of work to fill this gaps.

Here is the finished unit, but I still have around 1-2 hours of work to fill the armor gaps as you can see on the upper picture.

In my opinion the Executioners box is the best of all new Dark Elve releases. Maybe not for playing but you are more flexible to build up the models. And they look great!!!

The Dark Riders nothing wort to say about this models ^^

And now to a little conversation of my Cold One Carriot.

GamesWorkshop....WHY YOU BUILD A UNDRIVABLE DUMB CARRIOT??? One wheel? Ok maybe not completely undriveable, but in my opinion this is no carriot. I would shit in my pants if I drive in this carriot over a battlefield and fight against an enemy. But I think the most enemies die because of laughing about my SUPER ONE WHEEL CARRIOT before I can hit them.
Ok what ever, I had to build it in my own version

First of all I removed the middle part for the wheel with a nipper. After that I glued a small plate out of plastic card OVER the place for the wheel. The next step was to creat 3 holders for the axis. One holder in the center and two at the carriotbody. At the end I fill up the little gaps with some Green Stuff.
After that I created a mold for the second wheel and made a copy of it. Now I have a really nice Carriot :)

The only thing I still think about is my Carriot "fender" I have build one but I actually don't know what's better. With or without fender? What do you think? With this question I finish my post and wish you all a nice weekend!

Cheers

CrazyWenky's Workbench and SMC preparation :)

Wuuuh man this week i have not painted as much as i wished. To much work in the firm and i have listened to my girlfriend as she is planing our wedding :D. This is really a long list you have to check for a wedding ^^ no matter that the wedding is not before the next 8 months. Ok but back to Topic...

...i wasn't completly idle :)

I have designed our shirts for the Scale Modell Challenge (ok i have designed it two weeks ago :)). You can met Phil, Vlado and me on Sunday in Eindhoven. Each of us wears such a shirt. If you see one of us please feel free to speak with us :)

I painted for Philip from Massive Voodoo a small miniature in excange for a miniature from him. This miniature is one of my entries for the competition and after the event he will get the miniature. I hope he like it ;)

Ok now to the Dark Elve project. Don't be angry i lost my motivation :) i'm still motivated and on Monday i will strike back again :D
Here is a very early WIP from my Medusa.

Tomorrow at 9 o'clock we start our journey to Eindhoven, maybe we will see us ;)

Cheers Manu

CrazyWenky's Dark Elves Armyproject DAY 3

Today there are not many big news. I started to build the Cauldron of blood. In many sneak pictures and in the White Dwarf you could see the medusa have a little displaced breast, but its a bad angle of view in my opinion because my medusa doesn't have a displaced breast :) WUUUHUU so --> nice modell.

Here are some sprue pictures as i promised :)

CAULDRON OF BLOOD

 WITCH ELVES

HYDRA

 DARK ELVE DREADSPEARS

For the next weekend (Scale Modell Challenge) i have to finish this miniature. The Gunnery Sergeant Harker from Games Workshop. Philip from Massive Voodoo and i planed to paint a miniature for each others display cabinet. Both miniatures we started at my "Malkränzchen Deluxe" but we didn't finish it so we decided to finish the paintjob for the SMC. I'm very excited about and looking forward to hold Philips miniature in my hands :D

Harker is still WIP :D
you will see finished pictures at the end of next week
